The buzz: A new sky terrace bar rules the roost atop downtown boutique hotel, The Klapsons—another welcome addition to the burgeoning list of sky-high drinking haunts around town.

The décor: Like most vertically-inclined watering holes, Fabrika by Chivas 18 (it’s a collaboration between the hotel and the whisky label) went for the lounge-esque resort approach. Taking in exotic Morroco as inspiration, the décor here features lovely mosaic tables, white daybeds with cushions, jeweled candleholders and Bedouin-like canopies.

The drinks: This being a Chivas 18 branded bar, you can expect loads of the Scottish amber nectar on the menu. Noteworthy cocktails include Black Infinity ($14), Chivas Sour ($14) and our favorite Chivas Sling ($16), which is a mix of Chivas Regal 18, Absolut Pear, Yakult (yes, the one with good bacteria) and lemonade.

The food: Check out the Chivas-marinated (a little of an overkill) beef skewers ($12), turmeric-marinated chicken wings ($8) as well as the deep-fried Snickers bar ($8).

The crowd: Smart-suited executives and trendy tipple hunters looking for a breath of fresh air.
