No Fourth of July event is complete without the requisite American barbecue, and there are no doubt going to be a dozen of them starting Friday night all the way till Monday. But this one is especially exciting.

We've been weeping tears of joy over Decker Barbecue's crazy moist, slow-cooked, super smoky brisket since the Robertson Quay hole-in-the-wall first opened. And we were more than a little excited when Kilo launched its outdoor barbecue party concept Camp Kilo Charcoal Club a few weeks ago at the site of the former Loysel's Toy. Imagine our glee at discovering that the two are joining hands for the mother of all barbecues. Beats, BBQ & Booze is happening at #01-01 Kampong Bugis, 4-10:30pm on July 4.  

For $50 ++ per person, you'll get one sharing platter meant for two, with a choice of three types of meats and sides, which includes potato rolls, pickles and an American-style apple pie. The event also has a good mix of booze available, from classic American cocktails by Proof & Company (the folks behind 28 HongKong Street), craft beers by Coronado Brewing Company—the first 50 people there will get a free beer, too. 

Setting the groove is an American funk and soul set by DJ Brendon P. The event only accepts walk-ins, so be there early to snag a spot. More information here.
