For conversations to flow freely before the sobering show

It has been almost 50 years since the 1968 atrocity that resulted in the killing of over 500 innocent Vietnamese villagers by American soldiers in the hamlet of My Lai during the Vietnam War.

Admonishing the grim incident, composer Jonathan Berger and librettist Harriet Scott Chessman, along with American string ensemble Kronos Quartet, tenor Rinde Eckert and Vietnamese multi-instrumental artist Vân-Ánh Vanessa Võ, will be banding together to perform a commemorative musical monodrama that reminds us all of the horrors of the battlefield and the blight the Vietnam War had on the American soul.

Be among the first to catch the performance, eponymously titled My Lai, as it makes its Asia-Pacific debut in Singapore before touring several U.S. cities later this year and in 2018.

Before the show begins, just for SG readers, come early to the Drama Centre for a pre-show cocktail reception and mingle with fellow theater-goers at an intimate event brought to you by SG in collaboration with alcohol delivery app BottlesXO and Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) 2017.

Purchase tickets to My Lai, showing on Friday, 1 Sep, 8pm at the Drama Centre Theatre, plus access to the 6.30pm pre-show cocktail reception—where free-flow wine, bubbly and craft beer awaits—here.
