Their new live music series is just the beginning

If your Friday nights out on the town have started to feel a little bit too predictable, we've found just the place for you to spice things up. Come April, Sentosa beach bar and restaurant Coastes will be one of the best places in Singapore for a Friday night get-together. Here's why.

The great live music

If you've been to Coastes before, you might know about their Jazz by the Beach gigs. Starting in April, Jazz by the Beach will evolve into Friday Night Live, a series that celebrates some of the brightest musical talents in Singapore across a variety of genres—jazz will be joined by pop, funk, soul and rock.

The first set of headliners for Friday Night Live includes Shirlyn Tan (Apr 6), the frontwoman of Shirlyn & The UnXpected who's been rocking nightspots around Singapore for a decade; Jenny Vie Velasquez (Apr 13), a versatile, go-to performer for venues at some of Singapore's top hotels; Lou Peixin, also known as Miss Lou (Apr 20), who specializes in putting a contemporary spin on timeless hits; and Beverly Morata (Apr 27) of Singapore Idol fame, whose repertoire includes jazz, funk and soul.

Hosting the proceedings each evening are Rob Collins and Stephen Francis, who are distinguished performers in their own right.

The unbeatable location

It's safe to say that most people don't have the opportunity to take a beach vacation every weekend, but Coastes offers the next best thing. It might only be 20 minutes away from town, but its location on Siloso Beach feels far removed from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind. There aren't many better places in Singapore to unwind after a busy work week.

The wide range of drinks

Other than the official beer of Friday Night Live, Heineken, you can also toast to the start of the weekend with an array of beach-appropriate beverages—frozen margaritas and daiquiris, classic cocktails like mojitos and pina coladas, and some bubbly. Look out for exclusive Friday Night Live drinks promos with jugs of Heineken going at only $28, $55 wine bottles and two glasses of highball cocktails at $24.

The good food

To complete the package for the perfect night out, you can't go wrong with some classic comfort food. The menu at Coastes includes a tempting spread of pasta, pizza, burgers and more, with seafood featuring prominently in a number of dishes—think slipper lobsters, crab, tiger prawns, clams and scallops.

Admission for Friday Night Live is free, and you can make reservations by sending an email to [email protected]. For more information, head to Coastes' website or Facebook page.
