4 outdoor parties to check out in Singapore this October

Don’t we all just love ourselves some good nosh and music, minus the late-nights and hangovers? Here are four outdoor parties to check out, some of which will boast an art exhibition, a fashion show, indie-pop music and a night of soul.

DAIDOxDECK Opening Party (Oct 7)

Part of the Singapore International Film Festival, Daido Moriyama Prints and Books 1960s-1980s will making its debut at Deck. Be transported back to the past as Daido Moriyama’s (aka the father of street photography) photos show you a darker side of Japan between the 60s and 80s, as well as never before seen works from his Hunter series. After all that art, head out to the outdoor area to mingle with other art enthusiasts while enjoying some good music by Middle Class Cigars and Daniel Peters.

The Analog Vault Anniversary + Website Launch Party (Oct 8)

Vinyl store specialists The Analog Vault is hosting its first year anniversary and website launch party at Chye Seng Huat Hardware, so expect handcraft beers among bottles of cold brew coffees. There will also be a DJ booth at the outdoor space of CSHH, where you can expect a good dose of of indie-pop, rock, EDM and the occasional Kanye by Candy Says and Intriguant.

Rocksteady Soul BBQ Haji Lane Street Party! (Oct 15)

Rocksteady Soul BBQ, a music street party that’s heavy on the soul with zero percent chance of a barbeque (really, there isn’t going to be any food, but if you’re feeling famished, you can always head to Bergs across the street which serves up some mean burgers), is back again! Boogie down to some disco, soul and house tunes as Tommy Rocksteady (one of the founders) and My Hero take over the streets of Haji Lane. More details on the DJ line-up are still in the works.

Caribbean Cruis’in Party (Oct 22)

Lime House will turn Jiak Chuan Road into an extravagant Caribbean-themed block party, with highlights like a fashion show showcasing Spring/Summer 2017 trends, musical performances by Bloco Singapura and local band SLINGSHOT and a night of reggae, salsa and hip-hop dished out by the restaurant’s DJs.
