American alt-rock trio PVRIS is coming to Singapore for the first time

PVRIS‘ brand of music is a great mix of guitars, drums and electronic elements, with a dash of pop sensibility; it’s no wonder they’ve grown a massive following since they formed in 2012 under a different name. The trio—Lynn Gunn, Alex Babinski and Brian MacDonald—will be performing at Hard Rock Cafe Singapore (Cuscaden) on Jun 26

They’ve come a long way since their metalcore beginnings as Operation Guillotine. After dropping two of their members, they also changed their name twice; once to Paris and the other to PVRIS—the latter because of legal reasons. In this time, they released a self-titled EP—which was mostly pegged as post-hardcore—and continued to go on tour to support bands. It was only when they started hitting the studios again to produce their first full-length album, White Noise, that their sound started to change.

More pop and electronic bits were added into the music (according to Gunn, it wasn’t done consciously), but they didn’t stray too far from what they’re known for. The record spawned hits like “You And I” and “St. Patrick”. They continued to hit the road, supporting acts like Mayday Tour, Pierce the Veil and Fall Out Boy on their tours, before releasing their sophomore record, All We Know Of Heaven, All We Need of Hell in Aug last year.

Tickets are priced at $88 via Ticketflap from May 25, 10am onwards.
