Oomphatico’s

With its English tea party setting, this is definitely a place for chick eats. Its menu, which serves “passion food”, is a zany mish-mash of Thai, Italian, organic, Zen and finger food—think breakfast pancakes, salads, sandwiches, gluten-free pastas and pizzas. There are also loads of fresh juices, smoothies and cocktails. We started off with the very satisfactory thin-crusted Rebelde Lina pizza. Generously topped with cheese, bacon, chicken and egg, it was one of the best pizzas we’ve tried in a long time. We didn’t really take to the “must-try” of the menu though—the Viva Paella risotto rice had an overpowering seafood smell and was too rich and creamy, while the phad Thai noodles tasted ketchup-y. Still, we loved the rest of our meal—the ruby jeweled granita was a cool combo of pomegranate juice and Campari, and the chocolate panna cotta was heavenly. Add to that upbeat and brisk service, and you get a great place for girly bonding sessions.
