Sapori D’Italia Risotrante
With its emphasis on southern Italian favorites, restauranteur Alessandro Di Prisco’s second restaurant Sapori D’Italia promises its guests authentic Italian fare at pretty reasonable prices. The newly renovated interior above The Dubliner Irish pub has clean white walls, high ceilings and modern paintings making for a pleasant indoor dining atmosphere. Wines and freshly made pastas are all on display which adds to the homemade feel of the food. The thin-crusted pizzas like the margherita and the capricciosa could easily be shared between two with a salad for a light meal. When we visited we found our pizzas a little bland, but the crust stayed crunchy right throughout the meal. Our pastas fared better—the tagliolini with lemon cream sauce and prawns was simply delicious as the lemon cut through the heaviness of the cream. Our pappersella with mushroom in cream sauce was also a nice change from the other pre-packaged, rather than homemade, pastas we’ve had. All accompanied with a light mixed green salad, we found this a pleasant above-average Italian restaurant with prompt friendly service. We’ll be keen to see if they are able to establish a foothold in this very competitive Italian restaurant market.
