All about art: Four upcoming art fairs to get excited about

Milan Image Art Fair

Making its debut in Singapore from Oct 24-26, this contemporary arts festival is a must-see visual feast for art lovers and photography enthusiasts. Notable exhibiting galleries are Zott’s Artspace and the Sundaram Tagore Gallery, which has brought in world-class talent like Annie Leibovitz and industrial photographer Edward Burtynsky. Also worth checking out is the Mekong platform, featuring an array of telling images and personal stories of communities living along the Mekong River.

Singapore Art Book Fair

This event was developed as a collaboration between Higher and BooksActually, and provides an opportunity for buyers and art book enthusiasts to connect directly with art book sellers. Specializing in contemporary art books and magazines, exhibitors at this year’s fair include Afterglobe Magazine, Delere Press and Kitchen Label. There are also fringe activities like film screenings, workshops and talks.

Affordable Art Fair

This art extravaganza sells everything from paintings and sculptures to prints and photography, all priced below $10,000. For the end-of-year edition, visitors can look forward to more hands-on activities such as live art demonstrations, artist talks and multi-disciplinary workshops in sculpture-making, watercoloring and photography. Home-grown galleries are being represented as well, such as Barnadas Huang, REDSEA Gallery and White Space Art Asia.

Art Stage

Art Stage 2015 commemorates Singapore’s 50th anniversary with a specially-curated selection of Singaporean contemporary art. Artworks to be featured include Suzann Victor’s acclaimed work, Contours of a Rich Manoeuvre, and Potong Ice-Cream $2 by Latent Spaces. You will also get the chance to attend guided tours as well as talks and panel discussions featuring renowned artists.
