Bah kut teh fans come here for its soy-based soup base, which is reminiscent of the famous Klang (KL) version. Its less peppery rendition is way tastier though.

Fantastic homemade gelatos especially the salted caramel ($3.70 per scoop, $5.80 for mixed flavor), while the double chocolate packs a punch. Great for people watching

Located on the second floor of the Beirut Grill, Magic Carpet one of the hangouts where people regularly chill out at on Friday nights and weekends. Bathed in warm, orange colours, this place has affordable drinks and Middle-Eastern eats.
One for the Road
A two-month old bar that resembles a biker’s hangout, complete with affordable booze.
Sleepy Sam’s
Never mind that they don’t actually welcome locals to stay here (this is a dorm after all), but you can still come here to have a drink and make new friends with the many visiting backpackers. At least the conversation’s interesting.

Beirut Grill’s authentic Lebanese décor sets the mood, even if food is just above average.
