It’s not the big names that’ve gotten our vote for the best pho. Way out there on the east side of Singapore, this unassuming stall along Joo Chiat Road dishes out a great rendition of Vietnam’s famed beef noodles. We say it’s definitely worth the journey.

The ever-versatile wanton mee (don’t you love how it can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch and dinner?) is the highlight at this hawker stall in Hong Lim Food Centre. Chewy, springy noodles with steamed dumplings and cha su slices—it doesn’t get any better than this.
