Apollo Western Food has been serving up a mouth-watering menu to diners for more than 35 years now, so it’s clear the business is doing something right. Located at the Hainanese Village Centre in Hougang, the popular food stall whips up classic mains, from ham steaks and fish and chips, to lamb chops and NZ Sirloins, all of which are served with fries, baked beans, and a toasted soft bun. Their Chicken Cutlet, deep-fried until crisp and golden, remains their best-selling item. Head on down to get a taste!

Fatty Bom Bom
A relatively new Halal eatery that’s been making its mark in local neighbourhoods, Fatty Bom Bom was founded by a band of bright-eyed ITE College West alumni who wanted to share their love for delicious, pocket-friendly Western food.
Operating a whopping 16 outlets island-wide, the stalls offer a comprehensive menu categorised into Burger & Roll, Pasta & Rice, Western Grilled, and Finger Food. Selected mains are served with creamy coleslaw, a fluffy bun, as well as Fatty Bom Bom’s signature Cajun Fries which are generously seasoned with paprika powder. Boasting multiple outlets island-wide, they can be found in numerous neighbourhoods.

Seletar Western Food
Pray you get lucky to avoid the snaking queues that average a whole hour at this humble eatery, for a bite of nostalgic flavours that will take you back to simpler times. Tucked within Seletar Corner Coffeeshop, Seletar Western Food is where you can find an old-school spread of Ham & Eggs, Spring Chicken, and a sumptuous Mixed Grill plate. Sides consist of crispy fries, a fresh salad, and a bun which steals the show with its satisfying grease and hearty butter interior.

Wow Wow West
Starting out as a canteen stall within Raffles Institution in 1999, Wow Wow West now serves their neat menu of just eight delicious meals to healthy throngs of diners at ABC Brickworks. Prices are affordable, with huge portions that are bound to satisfy anyone at the table. Their sizzling hot, made-to-order dishes include Chicken Cutlet and Fish and Chips in all their crispy glory, as well a hearty Beef Stew and Pork Cheese Sausage Set.

Ye Lai Xiang Tasty Barbecue

Home to over 100 food stalls, the massive Maxwell Food Centre always has our hearts (and tummies) when it comes to food. If you’re in the mood for Hainanese Western cuisine, Ye Lai Xiang Tasty Barbecue serves up some mean plates. The recipes here hail from the late founder’s tenure as head cook for the British Navy, and his son, Mr Leong, who now runs the stall with original, time-tested recipes. Head over and indulge in every drop of their house-made “secret sauce” that’s poured over the meats and cuts – but just be prepared to brave the snaking queues that’re often found there.
