With Earth Day (Apr 22) just around the corner, it is vital to remember that adopting a more eco-conscious lifestyle is necessary as climate change persists.
If you’d like to join in the conversation while trying your hand at sustainability-focused activities, then head on down to Takashimaya at Ngee Ann City.
‘Cause from Apr 1-May 31, the Japanese retail giant is unveiling a bevy of new eco-friendly programmes aimed at showcasing its commitment to global sustainability in addition to tapping into the growing demand for eco-conscious retail experiences.
To kick-start the two-month-long initiative, Takashimaya will first display a collaboration with ITE art students that features a one-of-a-kind recycled art installation in the department store. At the same time, shoppers will be encouraged to do good for the environment with the fun Plastiko Campaign, cool Green Your Shopping Carts experience, an eco-food bazaar and more.
With the Plastiko Campaign, visitors can look forward to recycling products in exchange for exclusive rewards, vouchers and promotions. For instance, premium Korean cosmetics label Sulwhasoo is accepting the return of full-sized empties by offering a First Care Activating Serum and a $5 voucher in the exchange. Similarly, Jurlique is reclaiming empty skincare jars and tubs for a free starter kit and an additional 20 per cent off purchases.
As for the exciting Green Your Shopping Carts, Takashimaya has rolled out an array of eco-friendly brands and products for mindful shopping. From activewear to accessories, labels including Adidas, Seafolly and Speedo are all in the mix.
Local gourmands may even explore organic food selections the department store has to offer with the bazaar Dine with the Planet in Mind.
But that’s not all. Those who prefer online shopping can easily check out the eco-friendly products on Takashimaya’s social media pages as Let’s Get Phygital! happens from Apr 12-25 too.
