In a corner of the junction of Cross Street and South Bridge Road stands Hopstation, a breezy 90-seater street-facing craft beer bar and diner found within the integrated mixed-use Cross Street Exchange development.
It’s great for those looking to grab a cold one after work, pulling up a seat indoors or at the alfresco area. With 13 craft beers on tap, plus a fully stocked fridge (the neatest we’ve seen, btw) of international craft brews, there’s bound to be something to cater to your taste buds. Beer styles run the whole gamut, from pilsners to IPAs, stouts to lagers.
You’ll find both familiar and rarer labels here. Hopheads will immediately recognise brands like Fourpure Brewing, Hitachino Nest and Singapore’s own 1925 Brewing Co., while lesser-known ones like St. Bernardus, SweetWater and Boyne are also available. Some are even exclusively carried in Singapore by Hopstation.
It’s nice that prices for a full pint only range from $15-17 (half pints from $10-12), so craft beer lovers won’t feel the pinch even after a couple, making a drink sesh here that much more appealing.
Hopstation’s food menu is also substantial, making it a possible dinner spot. For mains, the Squid Ink Spaghetti Aglio Olio ($24) is divine if you can take the heat, while the Beer Batter Fish and Chips ($16) is a satisfying classic made using the same beers they have on tap.
If you’re just looking for bites, the Squid Cake ($12) is a nice variant on the common calamari, while you simply can’t go wrong with the Gochujang Fried Chicken ($12). Pair them with the beers for a real treat.
