Bali does it best when it comes to beach parties and coastside clubbing; just ask any Singaporean whose photo album will easily contain images of them at their last shindig. Come September, Bali will be upping the ante with the very first edition of The Drunken Tales—a music festival set to take place on the gorgeous private landscapes of the Island of the Gods.
Revel in a four-day party retreat, jam-packed with entertainment acts, delectable meals, and most importantly, open bars for an unlimited supply of alcohol—every partygoer’s favourite social lubricant. Unlike other a la carte festivals such as Coachella, The Drunken Tales is a packaged experience showcasing the best of Bali; and opens with a hotel stay and mingling session with fellow party animals at Nusa Dua‘s Grand Hyatt.
Though the signature Balinese hospitality at the luxury accommodation is an experience by itself to behold, the days following day one is when the party really begins. After a lavish breakfast on day two, guests will be whisked away by boat to get the blowout started on the QuickSilver Deck that’s in the middle of the ocean. The third day takes place on the secluded shores of Padang Padang, where a full-blown beach party will be in session, complete with fire-eaters, jugglers and fireworks, in true Bali fashion. And lastly, to close off with a (literal) bang, cold pyro shows from the ocean deck cliff-side infinity pool in Uluwatu will send partygoers off into the depths of the night.
Several class acts are due to perform at the festival, including Lancaster-born Dan O’Donnell, also known as D.O.D (Bananas; Flashing Lights), Dutch duo Sick Individuals (Feel Your Love; I Am) and British progressive house duo Third Party (Never Let You Go; Lights). Expect these musicians to lay down dance tracks that’ll keep the crowd ramped up all night long.

The four-night vacation is tagged at US$1,799 (S$2,440) per solo traveller and US$1,499 (S$2,040) per head if you’re bunking in pairs. Prices comprise full coverage of your stay at Grand Hyatt Bali, meals, unlimited alcohol, transportation between venues and airport transfers. That means the only thing you need to take care of are your flights to Bali.
While The Drunken Tales may resemble the concept made famous by the notorious Fyre Festival, but here, at least we know the accommodation venue will be secured.
