Even if you’ve never heard of Chef-in-Box, you’re surely familiar with their business—the pioneering concept of dispensing quality ready-to-eat meals via vending machine. Since their first opening in mid-2016, the brand’s chain of VendCafes has been quietly spreading all across the island, revitalizing convenient dining one heartland at a time. Now, in what seems like a long time coming, Chef-in-Box is opening its first VendCafe in the central region of Singapore.
To the City Hall office crowd, take heart—for you can now pop by Suntec City for a quick, hot takeaway meal. Located on Level 3 of Suntec Convention Centre, the newest VendCafe will house seven vending machines offering cuisines that range from Korean to Thai, to Indian, Spanish, local and many more. All the meals are cooked fresh daily by renowned chefs, before being transported and stored in the machines via state-of-the-art cook-chill and cook-freeze technology. The cafe operates 24/7 daily, and is halal and HACCP-certified because “I have no time” doesn’t discriminate.
Currently, there are nine other VendCafes in Singapore, located in neighborhoods that include Sengkang, Pasir Ris, Ang Mo Kio and Jurong. The Suntec branch will mark the first centrally located outlet—as well as the first outlet to have a vending machine dispensing freshly brewed lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos and other cafe-type coffees. The cuppas are brewed with real coffee beans that were specially customized for Chef-in-Box, so don’t worry; no substandard instant coffee there.
Chef-in-Box VendCafe @ Suntec opens Apr 30 at Suntec Convention Centre, Level 3. More information here.
