2018 has only just begun, but the F&B scene clearly isn’t slowing down. Another fancy dining establishment has popped up in Singapore, and this one goes by the name Tablescape. A modern European restaurant and bar, Tablescape has set a high standard for itself, with the promise of hearty, beautifully plated dishes to match the luxury of its location—Grand Park City Hall.
At the head of the kitchen is Executive Chef Robert Chan, previously of The Carvery. With Tablescape, he hopes to strip back the fine dining experience and return to the most important aspect, food—“no pretension or fluff, just great classic flavors executed really well with exceptional traditional cooking techniques”.
Signatures to expect include Steak Tartare ($24), house-cured Salmon Gravlax ($16), and mains like short rib ($30) and the indulgent Proscuitto Ham-Wrapped Monkfish and Maine Lobster on Risotto in Armagnac Lobster Bisque ($38)—a mouthful, hopefully, in every sense of the word. A decadent dessert trolley on standby is sure to fulfill your sweetest desires after.
Lunch and dinner menus are available daily, including attractive two- or three-course set lunches ($32-$42) that’s certainly value for money in a gorgeous setting. Choose from Tablescape’s diverse bar menu—premium wines, craft beers and classic cocktails—and have your drink set against the Peranakan-style, neoclassical interior. For a place that wants to do away with fancy, it sure seems luxe.
