It makes perfect sense for Shanghai’s iconic and hyper-glamorous nightclub to take the prime spot on the top of Swissotel The Stamford. Just like its Shanghai home, which sits on the rooftop of Bund 18 to offer a breathtaking view of Pudong’s beautiful but at times smog-filled skyline, Bar Rouge Singapore’s floor-to-ceiling windows does the same with views of the Singapore Flyer, Marina Bay and the CBD.
Besides the super sleek interior and iconic rouge color palette applied throughout the venue, Bar Rouge Singapore also boasts state-of-the-art lighting. laser fixtures, and a Mode Audio sound system custom-built with excellent stereo imaging in mind in California (specifically for Singapore)—making it the only one of its kind on our island. Look up and you’ll notice the extensive centerpiece of the bar, a cloud-shaped installation with rows of potentially epilepsy-inducing (ok exaggeration, but you get it) lights to give it an extra oomph.
In terms of the music line-up, they’ve promised a host of the region’s, as well as Shanghai’s own most coveted and versatile, DJs to dance to—be it on the dance floor, podium platforms or raised cages (probably cooler than the ones the now-defunct Zirca had). The 400sqm club can only accommodate up to 280 patrons at any one time, plus a VIP Mezzanine that can host 50 people; as compared to everyone’s favorite superclub, Zouk, which can hold thousands. So yes, this is a pretty exclusive spot with a Smart Casual dress code.
