Singapore’s getting our very first Polish Food Festival

When it comes to food, Poland and Singapore is pretty similar, in the sense that Poland, being in the heart of Europe, is at the crossroads of historical trade routes between Europe and Asia where people and flavors meet. This month, we’ll see the first-ever Polish Food Festival kick off in Singapore, from May 18-Jun 3. You’ll be able to enjoy the best Polish dishes by six Polish chefs at various restaurants, along with an array of movie screenings, parties and a concert at Singapore Botanics Garden (SBG).

Six chefs—Marcin Suchenek, Michal Trukawka, Maciej Duszka, Sebastain Krauzowicz, Bartosz Peter and Daniek Chrzaszczewski—will be making their way to various places like SO Sofitel Singapore’s Xperience Restaurant where a four-course dinner ($60) with smoked beef tartar, potato cream soup and yeast cake with strawberries will be served alongside glasses of wines. Or you could enjoy a one-day-only four-course dinner in the lush greenery at Botanico at The Garage, accompanied by three specially concocted Polish cocktails.

After your dinner at Botanico, head over to Poland Sounds Good picnic concert at Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage (in SBG) for performances by four notable Polish musicians—pianist Arkadiusz Bielak, violinist Hanna Krasnodebska, Jacek Mirucki who’ll be playing the bass and Waclaw Turek on the accordion. Get your picnic baskets from Bee’s Knees at $45. Picnic mats are given to the first 300 audience members and those who join the raffle will stand a chance to win a Christmas trip to Poland. Party people, head over to SO Pole Pool Party & Movie at HI-SO Pool Bar for Polish barbecued grubs, an exclusive cocktail (Zubrowka SO Apple Pie) and a screening of Polish romance comedy Planet Single.
