Village Nasi Lemak, originally in Bedok Shopping Centre, has now moved to their swanking new space at Circular Road. Here, they are offering their Malaysian style nasi lemak coupled with great ambience and rustic decor. Following the questionably priced The Coconut Club, this nasi lemak eater has not decided to step away from the elevated prices still. But this is done in hopes to preserve our local food heritage.
Classic nasi lemak sets here come in options like crispy chicken wing ($7.80), grilled sambal fish ($7.80) and sambal sotong ($9.80). No mood for coconut rice? Go for tapas inspired by local flavors like chili crab sauce with bun ($10), Nyonya-style peanut with ikan bilis ($8.50) and chicken feet salad ($9). Selected tapas sets can also be ordered in threes for $25.
A selection of beers fill the drinks menu, meant to be paired with the bar bites they offer. You can choose from draft beers ($9-11), St Bernardus Pater 6 ($11) and BrewDog Punk IPA ($11). Otherwise, energize yourself with Village White Coffee ($2.50-3) or Silky Latte ($2.50-3). Hot and cold options available.
