The Japanese food enclave trend is hitting fever pitch, it seems, with yet another one cropping up, this one in Tanjong Pagar. Fans of the old Itadakimasu, which opened and closed in Marina Bay in 2014, will be glad to know that they’re giving it a second shot. The place will house seven Japanese restaurants serving the requisite classics, such as ramen, shabu shabu, soba, sushi and more.
Out of the seven restaurants, three will be making their debut in town:Shabu Shabu Gyu Jin which specializes in shabu shabu and sukiyaki; Nadai Fujisoba Ni Hachi, which does soba noodles with buckwheat imported from Japan; and sushi experts Numazu Uogashizushi, who will be importing their fish from the Numazu port fish market auctions. The other four restaurants include branches of existing joints like tonkatsu restaurant Saboten, ramen specialist Ramen Keisuke Tori King who will also be introducing dry noodles and tsukemen to their menu, wagyu BBQ specialist Yakiniku Heijoen, and teishoku (set meal) restaurant Yayoi. Prices are looking pretty decent, ranging from $10- $30 during lunch and $10- $80 for dinner.
