[Updated on Oct 19] Halloween in Singapore is not so much about the trick or treatin’, but the scare fests and parties that’ll be littered across the city are pretty spot on (after the initial queuing up and all, of course). If you’re looking for a good scare (or Halloween-themed party), here are some spine-chilling events for you to check out.
Halloween Horror Nights (Sep 30-Oct 31)
Universal Studios Singapore is pulling all the stops for its sixth edition of the Halloween Horror Nights, with a record number of haunted houses, thrilling rides and more, all circling the central theme of familiar Singaporean folk tales such as the ghastly Pontianak and the creepy Old Changi Hospital, as well as other Asian and Western horror stories such as DeFeo Witches of the Salem Witch house and Japan’s notorious Suicide Forest. Tickets start from $65.
Attica’s Halloween Week (Oct 26, 28-29)
Attica is going all out for this year’s Halloween with their line-up of ghostly activities, starting with their Naughty Nightmares party on Oct 26, a themed ladies’ night with a special Halloween bar filled with treats, and gothic nail and make-up services, followed by The Lost Souls on Oct 28, a prelude party of sorts. Then, end the week on Oct 29 with the ultimate Halloween Party, “Asia Ghost Stories”, where you expect pontianaks, sadakos and even a fortune teller.
Museum of Horrors VI: The Doll Factory (Oct 26-Nov 6)
*SCAPE will be setting up a horror house based on a true, horrific story. A doll maker kept his family members “alive” by killing them and turning them into dolls. Be prepared to witness the undead as you take a “tour” around his factory with seven spine-chilling chambers such as the slaughterhouse (where you might be the next victim) and darkness maze, where the only way out is to go through it). Grab your early bird tickets for $9.90.
Creatures of The Night (Oct 28)
&SONS is whipping up a devilishly delicious feast for the night, with the quintessential Halloween icon, Jack-o-lantern, taking the limelight. Enjoy a medley of pumpkin-flavored dishes, such as halibut with pumpkin, pumpkin pasta and pumpkin and chocolate pie. Wash it down with their Halloween-inspired cocktails such as the Frankenstein (made using tequila, Midori, lychee liqueur, lime, cherry and lychee) and the Vampire’s Punch, a mixture of Lambrusco, Campari, gin, orange, pomegranate and soda water.
Sub-LIME Halloween Feast (Oct 28-29)
Lime at ParkRoyal on Pickering is also jumping on the bandwagon with their Halloween-themed dinner feast. Eat your fear away through their eerie delicacies in the shape of creepy crawlies, goblins and ghosts. End your horrific feast on a sweet and sinful note with their Blood Splatter Cheesecake and Death by Chocolate cake which sounds like a pleasant way to die.
Battle Royale Halloween 2016 (Oct 29)
This year, The Lo & Behold group moves its Halloween party from The White Rabbit to Overeasy Orchard. The all-American diner will be turned into a battle area, so come dressed as in your favorite superhero (or villainous) costumes and show your best moves as DJ KFC and KidG helm the decks to churn out some killer tracks.
Creepy CarnEvil (Oct 29)
Revel the night away at 1-Altitude and Altimate, with their ghastly carnival. You’ll be greeted by a creepy ringmaster at the entrance and once you step inside, you’ll be “trapped” in a sinister carnival, surrounded by freakish clowns. Come in your best costume and be part of the Halloween madness.
Cirque Le Soir (Oct 29)
The famed Cirque Le Soir from London is making its appearance at the swanky Ce La Vi this Halloween. A bunch of circus freaks like clowns, sword swallowers and high-flying acrobats will entertain you as you enjoy the breathtaking view of the city’s skyline.

McGettigan’s Clarke Quay’s Fright Night (Oct 29)
Join the ghouls and ghastly characters that will be coming out to play at McGettigan’s Clarke Quay’s “Fright Night” Halloween party come Oct 29. Get Your Freak On by W Singapore, Sentosa Cove (Oct 29)
W Singapore is throwing their very first night pool party, and what better time than to hold it on Halloween? They’re transforming the pool area into a terrifying den, so come dressed and be spooked by the cemetery maze and death valley, which features a GIF booth to capture your terrified moments, along with performances by ShiGGa Shay and London’s house music duo, The Shapeshifters. Keep yourself energized throughout the night with Halloween-inspired grub like charcoal bat wings and poison apples.
Kinkilicious (Oct 29)
Kinki is throwing a Day of the Dead party with their Halloween edition of Kinkilicious, in association with Somersby and ATTAGIRL! (a music collective of female DJs). DuriO and A/K/A SOUNDS will also be helming the deck as they will be spinning an eclectic range of beats such as Latin pop, hip-hop and R&B. Get your face done at their make-up stations to complement your costume and get a cool skull-looking motif on your face.
Ghost Ship 1017 Halloween Party (Oct 29)
The Stewords Riverboat at the Marina Coastal Drive turns itno this eerie boat with a backstory about a tragedy that happened in the early 1800’s. Dig into their ghoulish dinner buffet from 6-10pm, and then burn it all off as you and the other shipmates try to figure out the “traitor” who’s trying to destroy the ship in a mystery huntdown game. A ghost ship of this scale wouldn’t be complete without a party at the end, with music provided by DJ Madjester going on throughout the night.
The Masqued Ball (Oct 29)
ADRIFT is going for a much classier affair for this year’s Halloween with their masquerade ball. Put on your best mask and enjoy chef David Myers’ four-course Omakase, which includes dishes like pumpkin soup with foie gras and miso-glazed pork chop. Tickets start from $121. A portion of the proceeds will go to the non-profit organization, Food from the Heart.
The Singapore Halloween Festival (Oct 29)
This Halloween, Fort Canning Park will be transformed into a picnic-carnival-esque cemetery. This 12-hour festival will see a zombie maze, pop-up flea market, pop-up food stalls and a cosplay competition, as well as a line-up of DJs like Brendon P from Ce La Vi and Kenneth Francis from Kyo who’ll be spinning throughout the event. Tickets are priced at $25.
Zouk Halloween 2016: The Scream Diner (Oct 29)
Zouk’s annual Halloween extravaganza tells the story of murder and mystery of a diner, a place that was once filled with life. Now a dead zone with missing victims and a cryptic message smeared with the blood of its owner and prime suspect Mr O’Donneell, come in your best Halloween costume to get free entry and stand a chance to win amazing prizes, including a stay at W Singapore during ZoukOut.
