Exciting Lunch Treats

The Burger Bar

A hearty burger for lunch is always a nice mid-week treat, particularly at this edgy, no-nonsense Boat Quay staple. With choices of bun, patty, sauces, toppings and sides, The Burger Bar delivers maximum flexibility and minimum fuss. On a diet? Get the wholemeal bun with grilled chicken and curry remoulade, with a side of coleslaw. Having a good appetite? Go for a brioche bun with beef patty, salted egg topping or truffle mayonnaise sauce, paired with chili cheese fries. Prices start at $8 for hamburgers. 35 Boat Quay

Splashing out on a fancy dish for lunch doesn’t have to mean breaking the bank, not at one of the city’s best casual Spanish restaurants. A one-person serving of their paella of the day—it alternates among options like a standard seafood version with prawns, fish, black mussels, chicken and chorizo; or the black paella with squid ink, prawns, squid and a side of aioli—served from noon to 2pm, is just $10. If you’re feeling extra hungry, get a side salad for an extra $3. 54 Boat Quay

After Work Beers

Red Dot BrewHouse

Boat Quay has some of the best options for beer lovers, and that continues during the enhancement phase. At Red Dot BrewHouse, it’s happy hour every day (Mon-Sat) from noon till 8pm, where pints of their house brewed suds are $11 per pint, and that includes quaffable, refreshing stuff like the RedDot Lime Wheat and something heavier like the English Ale. 33/34 Boat Quay

If you need an alternative happy hour option, head over to Dallas. During weekdays from 5-6pm, half-pints of Stella and San Miguel are $5 and pints are $10. If you’re feeling peckish, order off the a la carte menu to get 20% off all food between 5-6:30pm—just be sure it includes a main dish. And if you’re hanging in the area on the weekend, get a bucket of beers for $50 nett. 31 Boat Quay

Date Night

Enoteca L’Operetta

If it’s all about a special night out with fine food and wine, Boat Quay has that, too, and one solid option is this beloved Italian restaurant. Trained in Piedmont, Chef Takashi Ohkawa serves up dishes like paccheri pasta with mixed seafood in a curry cream sauce; grilled tilefish with black rice salad and saffron sauce and other goodies. Don’t forget to order from their extensive wine list, which has a big focus on the regions of Italy. 78 Boat Quay
