Woe betide Singapore’s retail scene. Just as we were reeling from news that Max Tan’s Capitol Piazza boutique has closed after a year, another local gem has decided to call it a day after 11 years.
Op-shop Granny’s Day Out, a favorite among lovers of vintage fashion here, is lowering its shutters on May 7 and the store is holding a clearance sale through this month. The reason for its closure is not known, but the shop’s Facebook page states that “we have decided to move on and try something new”.
Granny’s Day Out will still be rolling out fresh stock every Monday and Friday, with dresses going at three for $99, separates at three for $59, belts at $10 each and bags and jewelry at 70 percent off.
The shop also welcomes wholesale enquiries, or those interested in taking over its online business. More information here.
