Cocktail fans will have another reason to head to Kampong Glam. New bar Fresh! has recently set up shop in The Sultan Hotel and is slated for a end-of-month opening. Owned by veteran bartender Shawn Kishore, the airy bar has an old-school vibe with a throwback ’90s playlist and craft cocktails and punchbowls with that pay homage to iconic ’90s drinks. Plus, the bar is housed in the same building as SingJazz Club and takes over the space formerly occupied by Wonderbar.
There’s also a huge restaurant and bar taking up a heritage building on South Bridge Road. Housed in the OCBC Bank’s former shophouse, Cato takes up a two-story space will serve international fare with an Asian touches, as well as cocktails and is run by some of the guys who were behind Circular Road nightclub, Chateaux.
