Three new food-centric markets coming your way

Bored of the same weekend flea markets and food market scene? Here come three big gusts of fresh air.

Marina Bay Sands’ second Epicurean Market is back this September with chefs of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants contributing to the gourmet experience. Featuring award-winning chefs like David Thompson of Nahm, Tetsuya Wakuda of Waku Ghin and local favorite Justin Quek of Sky on 57, this indoor picnic gives you the chance to taste dishes and wines from over 50 restaurants. Expect masterclasses conducted by these award-winning chefs and even a cocktail 101 courtesy of the boys from 28 Hong Kong Street.

Meanwhile, August presents a first-of-its-kind creative fair that showcases the best of Singapore’s design, art, music, architecture, entertainment, and most importantly, food and drink. Creatory debuts in a repurposed industrial space on Mactaggart Road and brings edgy cuisine by some of the coolest restaurants and cafes like Tippling Club, Kith, Jones the Grocer, &SONS, The Travelling C.O.W, popular alcohol distributor Proof & Co. among homegrown brands like GSH Conserves and Hunters Kitchenette. Look out for design creatives as well, with names like Tyrwhitt General Company, Commune Furniture and Carte Postale.

In more familiar weekend market territory, Common Man Coffee Roasters debuts their inaugural roadside Sunday market (every first Sunday of the month, from 9am-5pm), Common Man Green Project. Keep an eye out for some the industry’s movers and shakers like urban farming advocates Edible Gardens, as well as Eastern Granola and LINS Smoodees.
