Even if you aren’t a wine nerd, there’s no denying the charm of small wine shops. They usually do affordable events and good wines and a casual vibe. Here are two places to check out this weekend.
For French wine enthusiasts, the Lyonnais Wine and Charcuterie at Weekend Wine Bar event is your chance to taste a selection of wines from this east-central region. Wine distribution company KOT Selections pairs wines from Lyon with traditional charcuterie from the region courtesy of Nicolas Le Restaurant. Opt for the Grand tasting set of eight wines (30ml pours) or order individual wines by the glass (starting at $11) or by the bottle (starting at $60). We just went and loved their tucked-away, no-frills, art studio-type space. The staff was helpful and informative, without going all uber-sommelier. Can’t wait for the next themed event.
Bottle shop The Wine Gallery launches their new e-commerce (and bottle delivery service) site eWineGallery.com with over 600 bottles of wines repping both the Old and New Worlds. Ranging from $24 to over $1000, bottles are delivered to your doostep and will reach the same day if ordered before noon. There’s also a two-hour express delivery service for an additional $15. If you’re still skeptical and need to test out the wines before committing to buying a bottle, head down to their Summer Wine Fair. More than 80 labels at up to 40% off are available for you to try and purchase.
