Hong Kong’s famed for its fantastic dim sum. Plus, it’s home to a plethora of top-notch restaurants—there’re L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, Mandarin Grill + Bar, Sushi Shikon and BO Innovation, just to name a few. And that impressive list is set to grow even further—famed British chefs Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver will be opening restaurants in the country in the near future.
Jamie Oliver’s opening a 200-seater branch of Jamie’s Italian at Causeway Bay next month, and he says it’s going to be “incredible” (and we certainly hope so, since the Jamie’s Italian outpost here in Singapore isn’t all that impressive). The new restaurant will be housed in a new building at Tang Lung Street, which will be home to other various F&B outlets.
Similarly, Gordon Ramsay will also be making a foray into the Hong Kong market this year. The notorious Hell’s Kitchen chef will be bringing his Bread Street Kitchen concept to the Lan Kwai Fong Hotel in central Hong Kong this September, making it the first outpost in Asia. The restaurant will be serving up British-European cuisine, with many dishes derived from the menu of the original London outlet.
A round-trip flight to Hong Kong in September via Tigerair will set you back just $241—great news, as you’ll probably be spending the rest of your cash on food. We sure hope that these restaurants live up to their hype, though!
