Global travel site tripadvisor has revealed the winning islands of the annual Travellers’ Choice Island Awards, with a worldwide category as well as specific regions of the world, including Asia.
Based on the most highly rated hotels, restaurants and attractions within the destination, over a 12-month period, the most outstanding islands were selected.
According to tripadvisor’s users Ambergris Caye in Belize comes out on top of the world’s best islands list, followed by Providenciales in Turks and Caicos and Bora Bora in French Polynesia, while in the Asia category Ko Tao in Thailand proved to be the favorite, with Bali, Indonesia and Ko Phangan, Thailand next on the hotlist.
