Find out how to get the cheapest flights with Skyscanner’s handy tips

The global travel search site Skyscanner has revealed how to get the cheapest flights from Singapore, just by knowing the best time to book.

Kevin Foo, head of communications says: “The earlier in advance you book, the better, especially for long haul destinations. It is also important to note that prices can really increase at the last minute, especially on budget airlines.”

According to Skyscanner’s data analysis, the best time to book flights from Singapore is 26 weeks before you travel, although this does vary between destinations.

When booking your trip to Thailand, try to book eight weeks before your departure. You’ll need to plan a little further ahead for Indonesia, as booking 16 weeks before you travel will get you the best deal. For Malaysia aim to book nine weeks before you go and five weeks for the Philippines. If you’re planning a trip to Australia, aim to book 22 weeks before you go, as it could be 29% cheaper than at other times.

To cut costs even more, Skyscanner advises you to consider traveling out of the destination’s peak season, to travel at less popular hours of the day, compare airlines and think about using a flight tracker that can send price alerts straight to your inbox.
