The buzz: H&M’s higher-end sister label COS, short for collection of Style, recently opened its first Southeast Asian store at ION Orchard to give Zara a run for its money.
The vibe: Sparse, muted and minimal, in the same vein as the brand’s design ethos. The 5,900 sq. ft. space seems to go on forever, with womenswear, menswear and childrenwear neatly displayed for easy browsing.
The goods: Whatever the season, the COS look is always impeccably cut and luxuriously crafted in distinct minimalist style. colors are often safe—black, white, grey and navy—though there’s some red and green in the current Autumn/Winter collection. For Spring/Summer 2014, expect the same rigorous silhouettes in soft pastels. Price-wise, the numbers start where H&M’s end: $29 upwards for tops, $49 upwards for trousers, $69 upwards for dresses and $135 upwards for outerwear.
Why you’ll be back: Now, who can say no to great style at affordable prices? Besides, everyone’s wearing Zara to death. And while there’s a second outle that just opened at Westgate Mall, the ION boutique is bigger and more conveniently located.
