The buzz: The latest watering hole on trending Tras Street is all set to be the next It bar in the city.
The décor: They channel old fashioned gentlemen’s clubs with vintage Chesterfield-style leather couches and Pop Art in gilt frames on the walls. It’s all very dark and sexy—Gatsby, or indeed Wilde, would have approved.
The drinks: Mainly spirits, including an extensive whiskey list (from $15/glass), plus interesting boutique spirits like VIP Truffle Vodka ($23) and St. George Terroir Gin ($16). If you’re in the mood for a classic cocktail (from $20), just talk to the delightfully unintimidating bartenders.
The music: Downtempo hip hop at conversation-enabling levels. (Things can get considerably louder on Friday nights, though.)
The crowd: Mainly nattily-dressed corporate types, with beautiful people from the entertainment industry thrown in the mix. No surprises, then.
Why you’ll be back: Old school drinks and glamor never quite go out of style.
