The city’s not short of Great Singapore Sale (GSS) deals. But the one at Pan Pacific Orchard is worth a look. The hotel’s offering promo rates (from $220) with a GSS Survival Kit through July 31.
The GSS Survival Kit’s a sweet little pack including all sorts of skin-friendly ointments (REN Mayblossom t-zone control cleansing gel, REN Matte balancing fluid, Hylexin dark circles cream and a fragrance by Penhaligon’s) but the real highlight of staying at the hotel is its location. On Claymore Road, the place is quiet and has an almost residential vibe, but is really just a stone’s throw from the main shopping action on Orchard Road. Plus, they offer a free shuttle service to Paragon Shopping Centre.
The grub is top notch too. The buffet (from $59/dinner) at the on-site restaurant 10 at Claymore is great value. Besides a pretty spread (including fresh shucked oysters), it includes some cool Pacific-themed a la carte Plates of Pleasure available through July 31. Expect dishes like rack of lamb with sweet kumara, queen scallop paired with blue cheese dip and king prawn with garlic and chilli (inspired by local recipe chilli crab).
They’ve also got a new branch of St Gregory spa, a zen relaxing space that’s intimate (there are only four suites), with a nice high tea, massage and facial combo deal ($268) available through the end of the year. You get to stuff your face with petite pastries before getting worked on by their experienced masseuses. It’s really something.
Ok, so it isn’t the freshest looking or edgiest establishment in town, but Pan Pacific Orchard is comfy and the staff is super friendly. They offer a triple whammy of convenience, good food and great spa treatments. If you’re looking for a GSS staycation you’d be hard pressed to find a better deal.
