Australian luxury retreat Cicada Lodge is now open in the Nitmiluk National Park in the Northern Territory’s Top End (a four hour drive from the region’s capital Darwin) with rates starting at AU$323 ($417).
The 18-room resort offers Champagne on arrival, free wifi, and complimentary canapes and drinks every evening. There’s also an on-site restaurant and pool as well as two helicopters (to tour the nearby Katherine Gorge). Surrounding the property are plenty of other attractions from the Nabil Dinner Cruise (of the gorge) to the Katherine Hot Springs.
The lodge is also owned by the indigenous community and local artwork is displayed all over the property (pieces are on sale from around AU$600 (S$775)). To get there, the getaway offers private car transfers for AU$100 (S$129) one-way from Katherine Airport.
