Molten lava cake specialist Smoulder Softcore Bakers is now open at Raffles City offering a range of individual molten cakes in flavors like lemon, rum & raisin, matcha and pistachio ($2.80 per piece, $8.20 for three and $24 for nine).
One of the founders, Peter Cai says, “We [the partners] were first introduced to chocolate lava cakes in London. Back then, we were poor students and chocolate lava cakes were only available at fancy restaurants and cafes, and were exorbitantly priced. So we resolved to make the chocolate cakes available to the masses.”
Each cake measures 50mm by 35mm and is made from ingredients like Barry Callebaut Belgian chocolate. The bakery also has another branch at China Square Food Centre.
