The world’s largest religious festival Maha Kumbh Mela is set to happen in Allahabad from January 27 to February 25.
The Hindu event will see millions of devotees plunge into the waters of the rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati in a magnificent spectacle to cleanse themselves of sin.
There aren’t really any luxe accommodation options in town. But the Grand Continental Hotel will do nicely for a short stay. The cozy establishment has 47 rooms, a pool and an on-site restaurant, bar and pastry shop. Rates start at INR3,500 (S$79) for a Superior Deluxe Room.
