The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Originally built in the 1930s, this property has played host to noted figures such as author Graham Greene and Hollywood actor David Niven. It was closed back in 1984, and for years, the building housed the National Art Gallery of Malaysia and the Kuala Lumpur Tourism Association. Conveniently located opposite the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, the refreshed space now has 300 rooms and five F&B establishments including Hainanese joint Colonial Cafe and contemporary restaurant Opus One, which serves Asian and Western fare. Plus, there’s a wine cellar with bottles from Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi estates.
