On a recent weekend, we headed out to Loyang Offshore Supply Base in search of some “countryside” eats. We can’t think of many reasons to get out to Loyang. But when we heard quality food (by a chef who trained at Les Amis) was being dished out at a shipyard carpark rooftop at Ulu Ulu Café Lounge, we just had to make the schlep.
In the kitchen there is Timothy Jung Ming. We recommend ordering the lamb shank bak kut teh ($15.90) and slow roast chicken in white wine sauce ($18.90). To drink, there are affordable brews including Carlsberg ($7) and Kronenburg ($8.50). It’s a laid back space with a 5,000 sq. foot area and wide open rooftop. Plus, we had plenty of fun at the pool table, while watching colorful Bollywood flicks on their projection screen.
