Big news in our local dining scene is that Armin Leitgeb, head chef of Les Amis, has resigned, citing the desire for more family time as the reason.
The Austrian, whose impressive CV includes stints at Michelin-starred restaurants such as Jardin des Sens in Montpellier, Restaurant Tantris in Munich and Thomas Keller’s The French Laundry, has helmed this long-standing fine dining French institution since October 2008.
If you still want to sample fare such as his signature lightly-smoked eel “tiède,” which sits alongside a horseradish and Dijon mustard emulsion, topped with a crispy pork croûton, you have till May 31 to get down to the restaurant.
