Buzz: A bona fide cocktail bar that’s just about two months old, co-founded by Ethan Leslie Leong and Leonard Low—yet another welcome addition to the buzzing heart of Chinatown.
Décor: With a primarily white color scheme (the chairs, sofas, walls, curtains and even chandeliers), the vibe is chic yet not stuffy. And of course, it comes complete with the requisite dim lighting.
Food & Drinks: First of all, don’t expect to find any beer here, or wine really, although Dom does make an appearance. It’s all about the art of mixology here, with a list of cocktails ($15-28) organized by flavor: Sweet, sour, bitter, fruity or refreshing. Pick from drinks such as strawberry Frangelico sour, basil caipiroska or Red Ruby martini. There’s also a special flambé martini ($28 )—try the White Russian, Brandy Alexandra or chocolate. If you’re feeling peckish, bar bites include pizzas ($25 upwards), chicken yakitori ($20) and tomato bruschetta ($12).
Music: Chill-out tunes that are undeniably groovy but not too up-tempo flood the place.
Crowd: At the moment, it’s mostly yuppies working in the area and Lamborghini or Ferrari-driving types. You can help change that.
Why you’ll be back: For those days after work when the only reward should be a luscious, well-mixed concoction (or several).
