Away Koh Kood by the Centara Boutique Collection (a brand under Thailand’s largest hotel chain, Centara) has been named as the Outstanding Secluded Boutique Hotel in the Hotel Club 2010 Awards, and we couldn’t agree more. So secluded is this island getaway that Robinson Crusoe and Friday would feel right at home here (though we’re not sure if Friday would appreciate being surplanted by the resort’s excellent service staff). This intimate resort has only 20 bungalows and 13 tented accommodations, is located on the west coast of Koh Kood, some 80-odd kilometers off the coast of Trat province. The idyllic, stunning boutique is designed for the independent-minded traveler who craves five-star accommodation but hates having to share the hotel pool with scores of other holiday-makers.
