Haresh Sharma, the resident playwright of local theater company The Necessary Stage, recently launched his anthology of short plays entitled Shorts I. The Necessary Stage founder and artistic director Alvin Tan has also contributed an introduction to the book, which consists of six of Sharma’s works such as Lanterns Never Go Out and Still Building, making it the second time these plays have ever appeared in print. Other works include Hope, Talk I and Talk II. Shorts I will be available at selected bookstores such as Kinokuniya, Books Actually and The Necessary Stage for $22.
