Craving for some comforting Malaysian food, but still wish to dine in the comforts that our usual café scene affords? Look no further: Small Tables is here to serve us delicious signatures from Ipoh – yes, including their famed White Coffee – along our glitzy Orchard Road strip.

Meticulously put together by Executive Chef Sandra Sim, the menu at Small Tables showcases Ipoh highlights and other Asian flavours with their range of hearty mains, small bites, and a selection of coffee, tea, and even wine.

A modern approach to the Ipoh experience, diners can expect retro décor set against a contemporary minimalist interior, as they dig into highlights like the Ipoh Curry Mee. Proudly authentic, their rendition is further enhanced with gourmet ingredients and Chef Sandra’s progressive flair.

Served either dry or with soup, every bowl of Ipoh Curry Mee is chock-full of the hallmarks of Ipoh-style curry noodles – including poached chicken, caramelised char siu, crispy siu yoke, braised pig ears, pig skin, poached prawns, bean sprouts, and mint leaves. Even the hor fun used is made fresh daily in Ipoh with natural spring water.

Fans can also look forward to satisfy their cravings with some Ipoh Chee Cheong Fun, served with Ipoh curry, special chilli sauce, fried beancurd skin, and green chilli, and the robust Cuttlefish & Water Spinach, featuring a special sauce made with the essence of Ipoh curry.

For a bigger group, go for the house-made Whole Fish Otah and White Chopped Kampong Chicken with Sand Ginger for scrumptious sharing plates.

Not forgetting the classic Ipoh White Coffee, the coffee beans at Small Tables are roasted in traditional Ipoh fashion, served with the perfect ratio of condensed milk to coffee for that right amount of sweet and smoky flavour.
