Tired of the usual convenience store buys? Have a little fun at Japanese supermarket chain SEIJO ISHII’s inaugural overseas pop-up store, where you can find specially imported items from the Land of the Rising Sun itself!
From Nov 04 to 17, the pop-up store will be held at the Isetan Scotts Supermarket along Orchard Road, showcasing 42 selected items out of over 10,000 products in SEIJO ISHII’s inventory.
You might think you’ve seen them all, but the renowned supermarket chain is known for their supremely high-quality selection of both local and overseas goods, as well as their delicious ready-to-eat meals. So head on down and snag some of the best selection of international offerings and SEIJO ISHII’s very own house brands.
Recommended items include SEIJO ISHII desica’s Japanese Chestnut Polvoron and Japanese Chestnut and Wasanbon Sugar Montblanc Roll Cake, a swiss roll prepared using refined Japanese sugar, then topped with airy, cloud-soft Mont Blanc cream made with Japanese chestnuts. Don’t forget to also try the tart and creamy Strawberry Curd, made with domestic strawberries and best savoured with a slice of toasted bread.
Other products to keep an eye out for are the Thick-baked Miso and Green Onion Flavour Rice Cracker, 100% natural Japanese White Peach Juice produced with locally farmed peaches, and Hand-rolled Dried Natto Beans (bite-size dried natto beans and rice crackers shaped as hand-rolled sushi).
