Legendary clubbing institution Zouk Singapore is ringing in its 33rd birthday with an entire month of international heavy hitters and back-to-back performances.
Titled Lumine, the grand fete is a fitting celebration for a nighttime legend that’s never stopped making waves since it first swept onto Jiak Kim Street in 1991.
It has swayed the course of Singapore’s dance music scene for three decades, slowly expanding its fiefdom into a global powerhouse. The group’s presence can now be felt in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur and Genting.
Guests can expect an equally international entertainment line-up for its anniversary party, which kicks off on Jun 6, and gradually building up to a showstopping grand finale on the last Friday of the month (Jun 28).
Sounds like quite the slate of parties – it’s a good thing, then, that Zouk Singapore has decided to introduce an all-access Anniversary Pass for the first time ever.
This pass doesn’t just grant partygoers entry for every single night in the entire month of June – though that, of course, is a great thing already – but also comes complete with a complimentary drink for each entry, access to all rooms within the legendary institution and best of all, a spot on the priority line, so you can get to revelling faster even when the DJs are playing.
Some of the biggest names in the global music scene are featured in the line-up, including Swedish music sensation Galantis on opening night.
Led by super producer Christian “Bloodshy” Karlsson, Galantis is no stranger to spinning on a massive stage, having debuted at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2014. Its inaugural album, Pharmacy, also topped the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart with hard-hitting tracks like Peanut Butter Jelly and Runaway (U&I).
The very next night (Jun 7) saw the sensational Acraze hitting the decks, a United States-born DJ by the name of Charlie Duncker with credits at Tomorrowland, Ultra, Sensation and last year’s ZoukOut festival to boot.
The party hasn’t stopped. Los Angeles trio Cheat Codes keeps the rave going the week after on Jun 14, wielding a diverse discography of electronic, dance, pop and country tunes to exhilarating effect. Don’t trust us? They have six billion streams and counting, in addition to collaborations with top artists across the globe.
Things come to a head on Jun 21 with six of Zouk’s very own resident DJs – Krisha, Jeremy Boon, Hong, Ghetto, Rattle and Caden – performing back-to-back sets across sister club Phuture and Zouk, and demonstrating why Zouk has maintained an outsized global presence among other industry giants.
On Jun 22, Zouk presents the triumphant return of platinum trio Cash Cash, who recently signed with Ultra Records. Cash Cash is a world-renowned electronic music trio consisting of brothers Jean Paul Makhlouf and Alex Makhlouf, as well as life-long friend Samuel Frisch. Known for their infectious dance-pop crossover hits, Cash Cash promises to deliver a high-energy performance with their latest single “Anyway,” featuring RuthAnne. Fans can expect an unforgettable night of uplifting melodies and captivating beats.
Last but not least, French DJ-producer Nico Moreno will be given the honour of closing out Zouk’s 33rd anniversary bash on Jun 28. His coda of choice: Contemporary techno music, a sound that’s long set the musician at the razor’s edge of the industrial techno rave scene.
Zouk Singapore is at 3C River Valley Road 01-05 to #02-06, Singapore 179022.
