Catch A Spoonful of Sherman online with the Sing’Theatre this month

It’s a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious affair from now till May 26, thanks to local theatre folks Sing’Theatre and the online streaming of their production A Spoonful of Sherman over on their YouTube channel.

Written by Robert J. Sherman, son of songwriting duo Sherman Brothers’ Robert B. Sherman, the musical celebrates three generations of songwriting by the Sherman family, and debuted in London nearly six years ago. With Oscar-winning tunes from films such as Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book and even Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, relive the good ol’ days with this musical, or just prepare to have a whale of a time.

And besides sharing the jazzy show online, Sing’Theatre is also offering paid workshops for those who are interested. There’s The Power of Voice by Paul Carr, where the radio presenter and voice artist will teach participants speech, tone and pitch techniques over the course of four sessions; as well as an eight-week (Online) Musical Theatre Dance class that’s open to everyone above the age of 12.

But if you’re just tuning in to catch their awesome productions, feel free to give the local theatre company a token of appreciation for the complimentary performance, as a little goes a long way when it comes to supporting the arts. Plus, we’re sure the team is dedicated to bringing its patrons more content, which we’re definitely looking forward to seeing.
