Experience the magic of Disney at ArtScience Museum’s new exhibition in October

This Oct 26-Mar 29, 2020, get a rare behind-the-scenes look at some of your favourite Disney animated films as the ArtScience Museum will be presenting Disney: Magic of Animation, for the first time ever, in Southeast Asia.

Showcasing over 500 pieces of art from a wide array of films, the landmark exhibition will comprise five chapters, each presenting artworks relative to various topics. Disney: Magic of Animation will also include projections, audio-visual displays, and interactive activities.

Beginning with “Creating Believable Characters: Bringing Drawings to Life”, this segment will reveal how early Disney animators pioneered new animation techniques, while “The Magic Begins: Continual Research and Development” documents the triumph of those innovations through movies like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the world’s first fully animated film produced in technicolor.

You’ll also be able to observe some new production technologies developed by the studio, thanks to advances in global communications between the ‘40s and ‘50s.

Move into the digital age with “Towards New Dimensions: Digital Advances, Musical Seas”, where artworks from iconic ‘90s Disney films await, including The Little Mermaid and Mulan, which will definitely resonate with all you ‘90s kids.

And finally, check out creations from fun, recent animated titles such as Moana and the yet-to-be-released and highly-anticipated Frozen 2 to understand Disney’s vision of highlighting cultural diversity and respect for nature through “Bringing People Together: Social Diversity, Messages for Our Global Future”.

And don’t mistake this new exhibition as one for the tots; there’s nostalgia here only adults will appreciate.
