Arts in Your Neighbourhood returns to several estates in Serangoon, Marine Parade, Jurong and more

The National Arts Council (NAC) is commemorating 30 years of bringing the arts closer to Singaporeans with the exciting return of their popular Arts in Your Neighbourhood (AYN) initiative this year-end.

Happening from Nov 11-28, AYN will head to more than five different districts, to present a blend of physical and digital programmes including pop-up installations, interactive art trails and online performances that celebrate the stories of the residents within these neighbourhoods.

So look forward to visiting estates including Serangoon, Marine Parade, Jurong and Bukit Merah, to explore plenty of highlights that trace the development of the areas and its expansive history.

One of the must-see highlights is Tales Under The Neon Trees by A’shua Imran, Jaxton Su and Shauna Goh at Our Tampines Hub and Nex. A unique pop-up installation, experience the art of storytelling with animated videos, masks and photographs that celebrate the neighbourhoods.

Locals will also want to visit two interactive wall murals at Our Tampines Hub, brought to life through AR technology to depict the natural wonders that surround our everyday spaces.

And to truly immerse yourself in the culture this season, try hopping on an audio-visual arts trail that begins with a long-lost pet bird. Simply uncover rich histories and the memoryscape of the Serangoon residents to discover the humble locale in a whole new light.
