If there is anything that 2020 taught us, it is the importance of coming together as a community during trying times.
This is what the next annual Chingay Parade celebrates.
Working around the restrictions of COVID-19, this will be the nation’s first digital Chingay that will take place on Saturday, Feb 20 2021, from 8pm to 9pm. Although it’s a shame that we can’t experience the parade in person, the digital format makes it more convenient and accessible for people to attend.

The event will be aired live on television and streamed online on multiple platforms. But you can still expect the same exciting and dynamic performances from Chingay 2021. More than 2,000 performers and 150 organisations will be a part of the programme.
The digital format also makes use of different technology like CGI to reinvigorate the Chingay experience. Themed “Light of Hope”, the People’s Association is calling all Singaporeans to come together for this symbolic event in order to spread a message of hope.
Whether it’s singing, dancing or doing stunts, you could be featured in Chingay 2021. This initiative titled “Jalan Jalan with Chingay” will display the rich and diverse talents of our community.
If you’ve got a hidden talent, here’s your chance to share it. Just submit a one-minute video of you on your own or with a group of friends.
To be a part of the performance of the song “As I Believe”, record a video of yourself singing it. If singing isn’t for you, express your personal dance style in the youth dance competition.
Not only will you get to be a part of this historic event, but participants can also win prizes like a staycation or vouchers if their submissions are selected.
Submissions can be made here.
