From contemporary dance showcases to unique metal gigs

Not many may remember, but Kalaa Utsavam – Indian Festival of Arts was one of Esplanade’s first few cultural festivals and programmes. Today, the annual fiesta is in its 20th year of championing Indian arts, and its 2021 edition will prove to be a unique and dynamic cultural celebration when November rolls around.

Taking place from Nov 19-28 at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, Kalaa Utsavam 2021 will offer a myriad of live performances, sure to thrill audiences across Singapore.

For starters, locals will get to check out newly produced works by bharatanatyam dance company Bharathaa Arts, fusion band Brahmastra, and Indian contemporary dance company Chowk Productions.

And for the very first time, Esplanade has also curated a line-up of short films by international and local filmmakers. Through this, audiences will be able to feel connected to the rich diversity of Indian culture and the diaspora’s stories.

So mark your calendars and head down to Esplanade for the unique events happening soon; you won’t want to miss this opportunity to experience the beauty, vibrancy and joy of the Indian arts once again at Kalaa Utsavam.
